Pediatric Services
Gain insight into your child’s cognitive, learning, and emotional profile to shape their unique roadmap for success.
Intake Interview
The intake interview is a time for the neuropsychologist to learn about and observe the child, adolescent, or young adult, and to better appreciate what brings you to neuropsychological assessment. You will have the opportunity to share your questions and experiences with your child, and the neuropsychologist will ask questions to learn more about your child’s history and current functioning. Initial recommendations will be offered, including if neuropsychological assessment is currently appropriate and what steps may be helpful in the meantime. If neuropsychological assessment is not appropriate, guidance will be offered on what services may be a better fit (e.g., therapy, medical investigations, etc.) and why. If assessment is warranted, the testing appointment
will be scheduled on a different day.

Early Childhood/Neurodevelopmental Evaluation
Early childhood evaluations are designed for children ages 3- to 4-years and generally include assessment of cognitive abilities (such as language, visual problem-solving, and memory), pre-academic skills, behavior/self-regulation, and motor functioning. Collateral information is also gathered from parents, teachers, and other professionals (e.g., preschool teachers and therapists), including standardized questionnaires. This evaluation includes the testing session(s), a feedback appointment with caregivers, and a comprehensive written report.

Comprehensive Neuropsychological Assessment
Comprehensive evaluations are designed for children, teens, and young adults (ages 5- to 22-years) to provide a nuanced and integrative understanding of cognitive functioning. This evaluation type is most appropriate for determining the presence of an academic learning or developmental disorder, and understanding the interactions between learning, cognitive abilities, and emotional/behavioral factors. The appropriate assessment tools are determined based on individual need, but generally include tests of intellectual reasoning, attention, executive control skills, language, visual-spatial processing, memory, fine-/graphomotor skills, academic abilities, and screening of emotional/behavioral well-being. The evaluation includes administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological tests (by Dr. Jaworski), a feedback meeting with caregivers (for children/teens) and/or the young adult, and a comprehensive written report. An additional follow-up meeting with teens may also be included, as appropriate.

Academic Progress Monitoring
Academic progress evaluations are designed for those who have previously completed a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment with Dr. Jaworski (within the last 2 years), which resulted in a diagnosis of an academic learning disorder or developmental disorder (such as ADHD). This evaluation is designed to target the skills that were identified during the initial evaluation as areas of need (e.g., reading, math, executive control skills, etc.) and to monitor progress over time. The results of this more targeted assessment will be compared to previous testing, to evaluate neurodevelopmental progress and to monitor response to interventions (so that intervention approaches can be updated/modified if needed). This evaluation includes a brief interview, assessment session, feedback appointment, and written report.
